The LA Coliseum produced an exciting race, however it definitely exposed a few flaws in the NextGen system. During the race, a couple of NASCAR drivers were forced to end their races early.

Chase Briscoe, Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick, are among the drivers who’s day ended early. What made this all grievous was that Hamlin and Briscoe were in great positions to compete for the win.

The rules have been adjusted after what officials saw in practice on Tuesday, at Daytona International Speedway following two rounds of practice. In both rounds, officials saw cars with their rearends significantly skewed to the right, as they were rolling straight.

According to Jeff Gluck motorsports journalist , the teams have to make the changes before qualifying. In light of this, NASCAR will open the garage doors three hours earlier than expected. This will allow teams to make adjustments ahead of the important single-car qualifying round.

For the uninitiated, the skew is supposed to help the cars handle better on the track. This is because there is less air hitting the rear spoiler. This change will mean that it will be much easier for the cars to draft each other.
