Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says he's been left asking “where did Ferrari and Mercedes go?” after his squad claimed another dominant one-two finish at the Miami Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen led home team mate Sergio Perez at the Miami International Autodrome for their fourth perfect result from the five Grands Prix held so far in 2023, with nearest challenger Fernando Alonso 26 seconds adrift and the closest Ferrari and Mercedes cars over half a minute back.
STRATEGY UNPACKED: Was starting on the hard tyre the key to Verstappen’s victory in Miami?
It means Red Bull hold a comfortable advantage in the constructors’ standings with 224 points, while Aston Martin are on 102, Mercedes on 96 and Ferrari on 78.
Verstappen and Perez have finished one-two at four of the first five races
“Five races, five wins, plus the Sprint, four one-two finishes… We’ve never, ever had a start like this,” Horner told Sky Sports, reflecting on Red Bull’s impressive run so far. “We’re kind of wondering where are the others?
“We haven’t… We’ve made a normal step, what we would think, over the winter, and I think it’s more where did Ferrari and Mercedes go? They’re working hard on, I’m sure, big upgrades for Europe.
