NASCAR drivers and teams will travel to the Texas Motor Speedway for the Cup Series All-Star race this Sunday, where drivers will compete against each other for the one million dollars prize money and bragging rights.

The 2020 All-Star Race winner isn’t excited about the return to Texas saying that he’d rather the race to rotate to different tracks around the country to give fans a special event.

Elliott compared the All-Star race to other sports’ exhibition events, in the US , which bounce rotate around country to different venues, he doesn’t see why NASCAR should be any different.

“We should rotate. I think that’s what that race was initially designed to do, was to move around and give fans in a different region a special event, like an All-Star Race, which I think is really cool. It’s what other All-Star Games do and other forms of sport,” Chase Elliott said.

And, to get away from Texas, would be a major win for me, so the lesser of my times we visit Texas, the better. And I would love that, so that would be great.”

The first NAACAR All-Star race was held in Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1985 and was then moved to Atlanta the next year only to see it return to Charlotte, staying there until 2019.

Bristol Motor Speedway hosted the 2020 race and Texas in 2021 for the first time.
