Following their switch from Ford to Chevrolet, Live Fast Motorsports have confirmed their first driver for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Earlier in the offseason, Live Fast Motorsports announced that they would be switching from Ford to Chevrolet for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, and earlier this week, they confirmed their first driver of the No. 78 Ford-turned-Chevrolet.

Josh Bilicki, who competed part-time for Spire Motorsports behind the wheel of the No. 77 Chevrolet during the 2022 season, is set to compete part-time for Live Fast Motorsports in 2023.

While his exact schedule hasn’t yet been determined, it was reported that he is set to make his debut with the B.J. McLeod and Matt Tifft-owned team in the road course race at Circuit of the Americas on Sunday, March 26.

McLeod himself has been the organization’s primary driver since they entered the Cup Series in 2021. He has competed in all of the oval races, except for the two dirt races at Bristol Motor Speedway, over the last two seasons.

The team have brought in other drivers to compete in the dirt races and the road course races, so the fact that Bilicki is set to make his debut for the team in the season’s first road course race indicates that they may have a similar plan for the 2023 season.

In 16 starts during the 2022 season, Bilicki recorded a top finish of 16th place at Atlanta Motor Speedway. His career-best finish is a 10th place finish at Daytona International Speedway, which he recorded in the 2021 regular season finale when he was still competing full-time for Rick Ware Racing.

The 27-year-old Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native has one other top 20 finish in 87 career Cup Series starts, that being an 18th place effort in the race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in 2021.

The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season is scheduled to get underway with the 65th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, February 19. Fox is set to broadcast the race live beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET.
