BREAKING NEWS

today is Apr 01, 2023

The phony war is over and it will soon be time to discover who’s hot and who’s not on the 2023 Formula 1 grid.

Red Bull ended last season in dominant shape, winning all bar one of the grands prix in the second half of the 22-round championship. Because of that – and their 2021 budget cap breach – they have less time to spend on developing their RB19. Will that allow Ferrari and Mercedes to reduce their advantage?

Last year Max Verstappen won a record-breaking 15 races on his way to the title. With a record-breaking 23 rounds on the 2023 F1 calendar, if Red Bull’s rivals don’t step up, we could witness a rout of even greater proportions.

There’s plenty of intrigue beyond the likely front-runners. Not least, whether the likes of Aston Martin and Alpine will be able to emulate McLaren by snatching the occasional podium – or perhaps more.

On top of that we have the addition of three newcomers – plus potentially a fourth to come – and the return of the most experienced driver never to stand on the podium, Nico Hulkenberg.

Will the new season surprise or disappoint? How well can we tell what’s coming? It’s time to put our regular pre-season questions to the RaceFans readership.
