Following the footsteps of his father Bill Elliott, the 2020 NASCAR Champion Chase Elliott is doing a pretty good job in the sport’s top tier.

While Chase might have learned a lot watching videos of his father racing, it seems that he hasn’t watched all the races.  Dale Earnhardt Jr. tagged Chase in one of the Twitter posts that showed the move Bill made over Geoff Bodine in the 1998 Valleydale Meats 500.

“This made Gibbs vs Mayer look like a pillow fight” – Fans react as driver had to be handcuffed by police

Labeling the move as “pretty bada**”, Earnhardt Jr. tagged Chase in his post. Surprisingly, Chase admitted that he hadn’t watched the video while also commenting the move was “extremely bad a**”.

In a recent interview, Chase was asked if he would be interested in driving the models that his father used to drive, he replied:

“Late ’80s, early ’90s … are much different from what I’ve driven, obviously technology has come a long way since I’ve started racing verses then, but I think it’d be fun.”

While it has not been the start Elliott would have expected, with all of his Hendrick Motorsports already winning races, he still leads the Cup Series standings, with one top-five and five top-10 finishes in the first eight races.
