The rumour is that NASCAR plans to convert the venue into a quarter-mile track for its season-opening Clash exhibition race before the Daytona 500.
The idea is to increase the excitement of the race before the 2022 season begins. However, the track might not see the debut of the scheduled Next Gen cars as the teams are worried that there might be too many wrecks in this high-attrition race. So the event might go ahead using current cars.
